What we collect, and why
Plain language, no lawyer-speak where we can avoid it.
The short version. You can use all of PickleJoy without an account and without telling us anything. If you make an account we keep your name, your email address and a scrambled version of your password. We do not run analytics, we do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone.
Browsing without an account
You do not need an account to read anything on PickleJoy. Courts, coaches, clubs, tournaments, the Academy and the blog are all open.
When you visit, our server keeps an ordinary web server log — the page requested, the time, and the IP address that asked for it. That is standard for any website and is how we notice outages and abuse.
We also load our typeface, Poppins, from Google Fonts. That means Google receives your IP address when a page loads, because your browser fetches the font file directly from them. We do not send them anything else, and we get nothing back about you.
The bot check on our forms
The sign-up and password reset forms carry Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells a person apart from an automated script. Without it, those forms get filled in thousands of times a day by bots.
It runs only on those two forms, never while you are simply browsing. When it runs, Cloudflare receives your IP address and some technical information about your browser in order to decide whether you are a person. We chose Turnstile specifically because it does not build an advertising profile from what it sees, and because it usually asks you to do nothing at all — no traffic lights, no blurry text.
We never send Cloudflare your name, your email address or your password.
If you create an account

That is the entire list. We do not ask for your address, your phone number, your birthday or your payment details, because nothing on PickleJoy needs them yet.
Cookies
One cookie, and only one: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is marked HttpOnly so scripts cannot read it, and Secure so it is only ever sent over an encrypted connection. If you tick “Keep me signed in”, it lasts longer; otherwise it ends when you close your browser.
There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. We do not track you across other websites, and nothing on this site profiles you for advertising — which is why you have not seen a cookie banner. The only third parties your browser contacts are the two named on this page: Google Fonts on every page, and Cloudflare Turnstile on the two forms that use it.
Who else sees your details
Nobody. We do not sell your data, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertisers or partners.
Two practical exceptions worth naming honestly:
- Our hosting provider necessarily stores the data on their servers, because that is what hosting is.
- When email sending is switched on, whichever provider we use will handle the emails we send you.
- Cloudflare sees your IP address when the bot check runs on the sign-up and password reset forms, as described above.
We would also hand over information if the law genuinely required it, which has never happened.
How long we keep it
Your account details stay until you ask us to delete them. Sessions expire on their own. Server logs rotate in the ordinary way.
Changing or deleting your details
You can change your name and email address yourself on your account page at any time.
There is no self-service delete button yet. Until there is, email hello@picklejoy.ph and we will delete your account and everything attached to it. You do not have to give a reason.
Children
PickleJoy is for a general audience and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has made an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes to this page
If we start collecting something new, this page changes before the collecting starts, and the date at the top changes with it.
